Affordable Skincare

Best Of Affordable Skincare

I have been obsessed with skincare even before I learnt to perfect the art of makeup. As they say its what underneath that really matters, the same goes for your skin as well. Through the years I have tried and tested many skincare products, from a $120 bottle of essence to a $12 serum and have learnt that price is just a number. When it comes to judging a skincare product's quality and the results it can deliver, I believe the price does not justify why you should try the product. So, I have made a list of some affordable skincare products that definitely deliver results beyond the price you pay for them.

1) The Ordinary 100% Cold-Pressed Virgin Marula Oil - $9.90

This blog post would not be complete without mentioning the skincare line The Ordinary. The Ordinary is well known for its "no bullshit ingredients" and simple packaging that try to eliminate costs compared to most other skincare products. They truly believe in the integrity of their products and the ingredients that they use. The Marula Oil is by far my most favorite product I have tried from their skincare line. It is an antioxidant rich oil which is obtained from the fruits of the Marula tree. I have very dry skin so I use this product at the end of my skincare, after moisturizing and before applying a sunscreen. Also, it acts as a great primer for makeup and I usually tend to mix it up with my tinted moisturizer to give my skin that EXTRA glow!

2) CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser - $10.99

I have found that most cleansers, even the non-foaming ones, tend to strip my skin of moisture and make my skin very flaky after every cleanse. I decided to give the CeraVe cleanser a try after hearing a lot of skincare bloggers rant about how good this cleanser is for dry skin. I was pretty surprised to see how soft and balanced my skin felt after my first use. It did not leave my skin feeling dry and it manages to make off makeup in just one cleanse. This cleanser is formulated with 3 essential ceramics and hyaluronic acid to help retain the skin moisture. I have stuck to this cleanser since then and do not intend to switch cleansers anytime soon!

3) Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner - $22

After using up my Earth Recipe's Energy Boosting Toner, I wanted to find a more affordable alternative and came across the Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner on Soko Glam. This toner does not irritate the skin as it does not contain any alcohol compared to a lot of the western toners and rebalances the skin's pH. My initial expectation was that it will not be hydrating enough for my skin type, but oh boy I was wrong! This toner does hydrate the skin sufficiently and helps in the absorption of the products I apply in my next steps.

4) Dr. G Brightening Peel - $16

We all know how important it is to exfoliate our skin and I have recently discovered that physical exfoliators can be a little harsh on the skin. Thus, I have stopped using physical exfoliators and now only use chemical exfoliators. The Dr. G Brightening Peel is so effective in polishing the dead skin cells away but yet so gentle on my skin. Unlike the name of the product, it is not actually a peel. I squeeze out a small amount on my finger and gently start massaging my face with the product for about 45 seconds. The tingling sensation is very mild and when I rinse off the product, my skin is left feeling bright and soft. This is definitely a great option for those who find physical exfoliators harsh and irritating on their skin.

5) Bioderma Hydrabio Riche - $20

We all know that some of the absolutely best beauty products come from French pharmacies. Bioderma has an amazing range of skincare products that work wonders on any skin type and my most sought after product from this brand is the Hydrabio Riche. It is basically a moisturizer for very dry and sensitive skin and contains their biological patent Aquagenium to help the skin stimulate its natural moisture activating agents.
