The Top 5 Designer Bags To Own Right Now!

Designer staples, be it a pair of Manolos or a Gucci belt, can add a whole lot of elegance and sophistication to a simple look. One of the best ways to elevate one's look without looking too over the top is to pair a designer bag with a high street outfit.

I have made a list of 5 designer bags that are not only aesthetic but also hold value for the money you pay.

1) Givenchy Antigona Bag

The Givenchy Antigona is considered a classic bag and is a cult favorite among fashion bloggers. Even though it is a simple bag in its aesthetic, it is the trapezoid shape of the bag that really makes it stand out from the regular bags. It is sturdy enough that it holds its shape and comes in mini, small and medium sizes. There are two different leather options, grained goatskin leather and smooth calfskin and the even the size mini is spacious enough to hold a tablet.

Personally, this is a perfect day bag be it for the office or when you are heading out for lunch with your girlfriends.

2) GG Marmont Velvet Shoulder Bag

Gucci has been at the forefront of setting trends in the past couple of years and has managed to garner a cult following among millennials. Also, it has dominated fashion conversation in 2017 as it was the top most searched designer brand on Google, surpassing Louis Vuitton.

With the Marmont Velvet bag, Gucci was able to drive demand for velvet bags, which are not very common and popular due to their high maintenance. This bag comes in numerous vibrant colors that truly stand out on any outfit. The gold hardware, including the GG symbol,  add an ornamented look to the bag.

3) Prada Cahier Shoulder Bag

Prada has dominated the tote bags sector with its Galleria Tote Bags which are considered one of the classic lines' of Prada. Personally, I am not a very big fan of Prada bags as I find their designs to be a little too simple. However, with their Prada Cahier range, they have joined the list of designers that have been coming up with structured and box shaped bags. The Prada Cahier Shoulder Bag with its large straps and the bold buckle detailing was actually inspired by a notebook, which is why it is so unique compared to the existing structured designer bags. There are two inner compartments, providing enough space to hold a phone and a wallet. The bag comes in numerous colors and in both gold and silver hardware. It retails for around $2,950, which is on the pricier side but is definitely a more affordable alternative to the Louis Vuitton Petite Malle.

4) YSL  Envelop Wallet on Chain

I have recently got to lay my hands on a YSL Envelop Wallet on Chain in burgundy with silver hardware and it is definitely my favorite bag at the moment.  This classic bag comes in chevron leather and has a YSL logo on the center of the bag and this detailing is what makes it stand as a classic bag.  It has a single compartment and 8 cardholder slots and since its a WOC, it is pretty hard to fit in a lot of items comfortably. One one downside of this bag is that when it is completely filled up it is harder to close the flap can unclose at times. The WOC do not change much from year to year and is a great investment for beginners who want to start a designer collection and is also in the priced in the affordable to mid range,  $1350.

5) Bulgari Serpenti Forever

Bulgar is well known for its exquisite jewelry and watches but not so much for their bags. However, their bags are so unique and eye catching in their design that it would be a shame not to take a moment to appreciate them. This flap cover bag with the serpent head closure looks so edgy and luxurious that it is bound to stun everyone who lays eyes on it. This particular bag comes in different colors, including metallic colors, and different leather finishes. The chain is completely metallic and has more room than a regular WOC bag.
